This is the image for the news article titled Pioneer High School Alpha Theatre troupe students STATE CHAMPS & 3rd place UIL FILMOn February 25th Students from the Pioneer High School Alpha Theatre troupe traveled to Austin for the 2020 UIL Young Filmmakers Festival, the final round in the UIL State Film Contest. 

At the end of the night, not only did the group take home 3rd place for their film "Why I Left: Director's Cut" in the Traditional Animation Category, but were announced as State Champion for their film entitled "No Takebacks" in the same category. Both films were animated by Junior Adam Van Wagoner and had their orginal musical scores composed by Junior Joseph Ho-Shing. The voice acting cast in the films consisted of Juniors Lusinda Garcia, Isabella Nordhausen, Adam Van Wagoner, and Joseph Ho-Shing (along with some Pioneer Alumni).

A 3rd film's cast and crew of the narrative film entitled "Hey" also made the trip to Austin as they were selected as finalists for the Prestigious Nobelity Social Impact Award. Nominees were selected out of the over 700+ submissions for having messages that had a profound message in regards to social issues. The cast and crew of that film were Jentri Cornelius (Writer/Director), and Cast ANgel Brown, Marialline Loera, Camila Hernandez, and Analisa Guerrero.
