Alejandro Rodriguez

Alejandro Rodriguez III comes from a hard-working family who instilled education, loyalty, respect, and the importance to stand up for others. Growing up with English being a second language had its challenges and tribulations, especially when his parents were unable to help with schoolwork since they did not speak nor understand the language, but with perseverance, great teachers and hard-work, he succeeded.
Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business Management from The University of Texas, Pan-American and went on to work in the customs brokerage field. He then started a career in conservation law enforcement in 1997 and is currently the Southwest Border Liaison/Special Agent for the Department of the Interior, a profession which entails working with foreign governments, other federal branches, and non-governmental organizations.

He has been married to his wife, Gilda, for 24 years and they have four children; Veronica and Alejandro IV (seniors at Texas A&M University) who are ex-Rattlers and Diamondbacks, Ramon M. (senior at Pioneer High School- Class of 2021), and Gabriel (sixth grader at Donna Wernecke Elementary).

They have lived in Mission for the last two decades while residing in the Sharyland school district, and attend both St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Alejandro has been actively involved in his children’s life and education which include Scouting, Sharyland Parent Teacher Student Organization (SPTSO), Sharyland Baccalaureate, Sharyland High School and Sharyland Pioneer Athletic Booster Club, Parent Advisory Board for the Hidalgo County 4-H, past Sharyland Youth Target Foundation booster club president, club manager for the Hidalgo County 4-H Shotgun Sports, Sharyland Pioneer FFA Booster Club, Sharyland Pioneer FFA Booster Club Scholarship Committee and a Volunteer for The Project COVID Care.
